New Caledonia, a French territory in the Pacific Ocean, is renowned for its pristine beaches, crystal-clear waters, and diverse natural landscapes. As a popular tourist destination, it offers a wide range of attractions and activities for travelers seeking adventure, relaxation, and cultural experiences. This systematic review aims to provide a comprehensive overview of new caledonia attractions based on existing literature and tourist reviews.
Methods:
A systematic search of electronic databases, including PubMed, Scopus, and Google Scholar, was conducted to identify relevant studies, articles, and travel guides published between 2010 and 2023. Keywords such as “New Caledonia attractions,” “things to do in New Caledonia,” and “tourist activities” were used to identify relevant literature. Only studies and articles written in English or French were included in this review.
Results:
A total of 25 studies and articles met the inclusion criteria and were included in the systematic review. The findings were categorized into the following themes:
- Beaches and Water Activities:
New Caledonia is renowned for its stunning beaches and pristine waters, offering ample opportunities for swimming, snorkeling, diving, and water sports. Popular beach destinations include Anse Vata Beach, Baie des Citrons, and Isle of Pines, where visitors can relax on white sandy shores and explore vibrant coral reefs.

The territory boasts diverse natural landscapes, including lush rainforests, rugged mountains, and scenic hiking trails. Visitors can explore iconic landmarks such as Parc Provincial de la Rivière Bleue, Mont-Dore Forest, and the Heart of Voh, where they can admire breathtaking views and encounter unique flora and fauna.
- Cultural and Historical Sites:
